About Emma

Who am I? I’m a Christian, a writer, and a big kid. If you’ve clicked on this page, I assume you’re looking for the “important stuff”. In that case, here’s my professional bio:

Emma Holley is a professional writer. Her mission is to sow seeds of faith in children’s hearts by writing Truth-filled stories.

Emma is a proud graduate of Taylor University with a B.A. in Professional Writing. There, she gained experience writing and editing fiction and nonfiction manuscripts, magazine articles, television scripts, and more. This experience helped her gain an internship at Wren and Bear Books in 2023, where she served as Publishing and Social Media Assistant.

Emma’s work is featured in print and online in the Taylor University newspaper, The Echo, Pillars, The Marion-Chronicle Tribune, Aboite Independent, and the Evangelical Church Library Association blog. Her short film script VBS Stress won the Silver Award for Best Screenplay at Taylor University’s annual film department awards. As a writer, she is always honing her craft and supporting her writing community through critique groups.

When she isn’t writing for children, Emma is serving children at her church. She has years of experience working as a VBS puppeteer, Sunday School teacher, and children’s ministry volunteer. Her love for children inspires her to write truly childlike characters who serve as caring role models for her young audience. Every day, children remind her of what’s important: love God, love others, and be silly. She hopes her work encourages parents who are seeking meaningful stories that don’t sacrifice a biblical worldview.

Emma loves to hear from fellow children’s writers! You can learn more about her stories (and learn how to write your own!) by reading her blog. To join our writing community, visit Emma’s LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. For business inquiries, visit the contact page.
